How to protect your One Piece cards: sleeves, toploaders and binders

Sleeves, toploaders, binders and storage: the simple setup that keeps your One Piece pulls free of scratches, bends and curling.

By David, Madatsu TCG · Updated 26 October 2026

The best pulls lose value fast with a scratch, a bent corner or a bit of humidity. Protecting your One Piece cards is cheap and simple if you use the right gear. This guide covers what we use ourselves.

1. Sleeves for everything you play

Put every card in your deck in a sleeve. Sleeves stop scratches when you shuffle and keep the corners sharp. One Piece cards are standard size, so standard sleeves fit, and the official One Piece Card Game sleeves come in packs of 70, enough for a full deck. For valuable cards, many players use an inner sleeve plus an outer sleeve, called double sleeving.

2. Toploaders for your best pulls

A toploader is a rigid plastic holder. Put the card in a sleeve first, then slide it into the toploader. This is the standard way to store and ship valuable singles, and it keeps them flat.

3. Binders for your collection

A binder is the easiest way to keep a collection organised and see it at a glance. Choose a binder with side-loading pockets, so cards cannot slide out, and avoid ring binders that can press dents into cards near the rings.

4. Deck boxes and storage boxes

A deck box keeps your sleeved deck together in your bag. For bigger collections, a storage box keeps cards upright and away from dust.

Where to keep your cards

  • Away from direct sunlight, which fades colours.
  • In a dry room. Humidity makes cards curl.
  • Upright or flat, never with weight pressing on them.
Quick checklist: sleeves for your deck, toploaders for cards worth more than a few euros, a side-loading binder for the rest, all kept dry and out of the sun.
